LAND ROVER ANNOUNCES 2017 MODEL LINEUP

(MAHWAH, N.J.) – November 11, 2016 – Land Rover continues to expand its premium SUV offerings for 2017 with the introduction of three new models, creating one of the brand’s most comprehensive lineups in its history.

The Discovery returns to the North American market for 2017 with the introduction of the all-new, fifth generation Land Rover Discovery. The seven-passenger, full size SUV offers an exceptional package of versatility, capability and refinement with a range of advanced features. It is available with a responsive 340hp supercharged V6, along with a powerful V6 turbodiesel producing 443 lb ft of torque.

The Range Rover Evoque model range grows for 2017 with the new Evoque Convertible SE Dynamic and HSE Dynamic. A capable all-season convertible, the Evoque Convertible captures the bold, elegant design proportions of the coupe models while retaining the same spacious interior volume. It also retains the excellent all-terrain capability expected of all Land Rover vehicles.

Elevating luxury, performance and design to the highest level, the Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic is also new for 2017. Building upon the success of the long-wheelbase Range Rover SVAutobiography flagship, the most luxurious and powerful production Range Rover in brand history, the SVAutobiography Dynamic is crafted exclusively by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO). The standard wheelbase-only model is fitted with a powerful 550hp supercharged V8, specially tuned suspension and a wealth of unique exterior and interior design treatments.

2017 Land Rover Discovery

Introduced at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, the new 2017 Land Rover Discovery is a premium full size SUV with an unparalleled combination of capability, versatility and refinement.

The 2017 Discovery is available with smooth, responsive powertrains in both petrol and diesel configurations. Each backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission, the 3.0L supercharged petrol V6 produces 340hp and 332 lb ft of torque, while the 3.0L turbocharged V6 diesel engine delivers 254hp and 443 lb ft of torque.

Utilizing the same architecture as the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, the lightweight aluminum construction of the Discovery reduces weight by approximately 1,000 pounds compared to the outgoing LR4 for improved performance and handling. Capability is further enhanced by the SUV’s excellent off-road geometry and advanced driver assistance technologies including Advanced Tow Assist and the multi-mode Terrain Response® 2 system(2).

The capability and versatility of the Discovery extends to the vehicle’s interior, with seating to accommodate up to seven adults, as well as 82.7 cu ft of luggage space. The Discovery features Intelligent Seat Fold technology(3), allowing the second- and third-row seats to be reconfigured remotely via smartphone app, as well as an available Activity Key, which enables owners to lock and unlock the vehicle without the need to carry a conventional key fob. In addition, the vehicle comes equipped with up to nine USB ports, six 12-volt charging points and an in-car WiFi hotspot for up to eight devices(4).

2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport

The entry point into the Land Rover Discovery family, the Discovery Sport is a premium compact SUV that upholds the brand’s core values of capability and versatility. Its unique design provides seating for up to seven passengers while maintaining a compact exterior footprint.

The Discovery Sport features a 2.0L turbocharged engine producing 240hp and 251 lb ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and intelligent all-wheel drive for a refined combination of performance and refinement.

For 2017, the Discovery Sport adds a number of new technologies for enhanced comfort and convenience. All three derivatives now come equipped as standard with All Terrain Progress Control, which acts as a low speed cruise control. In addition, a Powered Gesture Tailgate is offered as standard on Discovery Sport HSE and HSE Luxury models and as an option on SE models, allowing hands-free tailgate operation.

For 2017, the distinctive Range Rover Evoque further solidifies its place as a design leader with the introduction of the Evoque Convertible, as well as thoughtful design changes and enhanced vehicle technologies.

The Range Rover Evoque Convertible features the bold, elegant design proportions and maximized interior space of the Five-Door and Coupe models. Available in SE Dynamic and HSE Dynamic variants, the Evoque Convertible is fitted with a special set of exterior enhancements including a deeper, more aggressive front bumper with enlarged air intakes.

Subtle yet impactful design revisions can be found across the model range, which include updates to the hood vents on Coupe SE Premium models, grille surround and outer tow-eye on HSE Dynamic models, five new exterior paint colors and two new contrast roof color options.

A number of new driver assistance features and in-car technologies become available as across the Evoque model range, including All Terrain Progress Control, All Terrain Info Center, InControl Touch Pro™ and InControl Apps(2).
