This year has tested JLR, and we have risen to the challenges. Despite headwinds, we have again set new records and demonstrated our company’s underlying strength. We also achieved the highest full year profit in a decade. Adjusted EBIT margin of 8.5 per cent for the year was flat compared to the prior year. Profit before tax and exceptional items was £2.5 billion compared to profit before tax and exceptional items of £2.2 billion in the prior year. Profit after tax was £1.8 billion, down from £2.6 billion a year ago (a deferred tax asset of £1.0 billion was recognised in FY2023/24).
