Gaydon, Warwickshire, 4 August 2011 ‑Land Rover's great summer of outdoor action continues in August at the Festival of British Eventing, where it will enjoy a superb public platform as an associate sponsor and official vehicle supplier.
For thousands of people attending the three‑day horse trials at Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire, family home of the Princess Royal, it will offer a first chance to take a close‑up look at the new Range Rover Evoque, weeks ahead of its appearance at Land Rover dealerships.
The stylish Range Rover Evoque will take centre stage on the Land Rover stand alongside the completeUKmodel range. Both the Evoque and Evoque Coupe versions will also be prominently displayed alongside the main scoreboard throughout the festival, which runs from 5‑7 August.
Land Rover's support for the show dates back to its inception in 1983. This long‑running partnership this year includes the provision of a courtesy shuttle service for owners, riders and visitors, and a fleet of vehicles for use by officials, judges, medical and veterinary teams.
Land Rover customers are renowned for their brand loyalty and in recognition of this; once again the Festival will give them the privilege of a dedicated Land Rover owners car park close to the showground's pedestrian entrance. Close by there will also be the Land Rover Lawn, where owners can enjoy free refreshments on presentation of their Land Rover key fob and take a seat for a prime view of the competition action and entertainment in the main arena.
For those wanting first‑hand experiences of Land Rover's legendary off‑road performance, the Land Rover Experience will be at the festival, giving passenger rides over a woodland trail.
Out on the cross‑country course, Land Rover will again sponsor the Folly obstacles, where competitors have to pass through an archway display of Range Rover Sports on their way to jumping the fences. The company will again be presenting a special prize for the highest placed overseas rider in the British Open Championship, which will be presented by the Princess Royal.
Land Rover will continue its support for Eventing at The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials from 1st to 4th September, its seventh year as title sponsor of the international meeting. As a keen supporter of equine sport in general, it is also the official vehicle supplier to the national Equestrian Team GBR.
