The 1,000,000 Land Rover Discovery made a pit-stop from its 8,000-mile, 50-day 'Journey of Discovery' to join heritage models from the past 23 years in Geneva, where they celebrated Land Rover's continuous achievements in all-terrain capability.

Heritage models included the first Discovery off the production line in 1989, a Series I Land Rover from 1957 and a fully amphibious Discovery converted for Cowes Week in 1990 which created a splash as it was driven across Lake Geneva.

The special expedition from Birmingham to Beijing will take in some of the world's toughest terrain with the aim of raising £1million for the International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), Land Rover's Global Humanitarian Partner. The money raised will support a long-term water sanitation project in Uganda.

Members of the public can follow the progress of the expedition and learn how to donate to the IFRC at www.landrover.com/million
