DEFENDER AND GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL REUNITE FOR AN EPIC SUMMER 2025 ADVENTURE

25 June 2025

  • Enduring partnership: For the third consecutive year, Defender reprises its role as Official Vehicle Partner of Glastonbury Festival, with cars chauffeuring artists, guests and staff at the legendary music event

  • The original British adventure brand: Whether it’s exploring the wilderness or the pulse of live music, Defender embodies the spirit of adventure

  • Historic association: Defender has been at the heart of Glastonbury for over five decades, with Land Rovers used by the festival site owners and organisers since the very first event in 1970

Marking the third year as Glastonbury’s Official Vehicle Partner, a fleet of Defender electric hybrids will again support the iconic music festival as the brand continues to champion adventure and epic experiences at the legendary event.

Defender is providing 35 vehicles to the UK‑based festival for 2025, with a total of 25 Defender 110 plug‑in electric hybrids dedicated to chauffeuring headline acts to the 100+ stages across the site. Ten more Defenders are supporting Glastonbury’s operations team, with two carrying defibrillators supplied by Defender’s purpose partner, the British Red Cross. Famous for exceptional all‑terrain capability, the Defenders are perfectly placed to support performers, festival staff and first responders with reaching all corners of the 900‑acre site no matter the conditions. Charging methods for the electric hybrids provided to the festival include taking advantage of solar energy generated from the onsite photovoltaic array.

As Glastonbury’s Official Vehicle Partner for the third year running, we’re proud to continue to support such an iconic British festival that celebrates adventure, exceptional experiences and the spirit of music – values which are at the heart of the Defender community. A fleet of capable, electrified Defenders, built for any challenge, provide reliable, all‑terrain mobility to help keep the festival running smoothly, no matter the conditions.

Mark Cameron, Managing Director for Defender

Defender inspires exploration and embracing the unexpected, making Glastonbury—the ultimate live music experience—a natural fit. A vibrant celebration where music, culture, and adventure collide, the festival draws in those who seek unforgettable experiences—an ethos that has defined Defender for generations.

This philosophy has defined Defender’s in‑car technology, with Body and Soul Seats in OCTA models providing a multi‑sensory audio experience. The innovative technology, developed in collaboration with music industry experts SUBPAC TM and Coventry University, allows front seat passengers to feel the music as well as hearing it – for a truly immersive soundtrack on every adventure.

The brand’s association with Glastonbury spans five decades. The Eavis family, organisers of the Worthy Farm event since its inception in 1970, use Land Rovers on their farm and during the festival. Photos from the very first Glastonbury in 1970 show a Land Rover Series IIA in attendance, and Michael Eavis regularly uses his bright red anniversary edition Defender 90, earning him the nickname: ‘The Landy Man of Glastonbury’.
