Whitley, UK – Thursday 29 August 2024: The 2024 Defender Burghley Horse Trials sees a landmark celebration of 20 years of partnership, with this year’s event paying reverence to two decades of memorable moments.
Marrying the best of British for one of the most anticipated social and equestrian events in the world, Defender and Burghley complement each other perfectly. This year, Defender brings its legendary capability and pedigree to the spectacular rural setting of Burghley House with a showcase of its most prestigious vehicles, activities for the entire family and hospitality for clients.
New Defender OCTA, the most capable and powerful Defender ever, will be proudly on display for guests alongside its Range Rover and Discovery stablemates. Guests can also see an example of the legendary Land Rover Series I, which embodies the deep roots and strong provenance that gives Defender its credibility as the ultimate ‘go‑anywhere’ vehicle.
And to fully showcase its off‑road credentials, visitors can take a passenger experience in live Defender demonstrations throughout the event. A purpose‑built obstacle course puts Defender through its paces with gravity‑defying stunts for guests who wish to experience its outstanding abilities first‑hand.
Younger visitors can take the wheel too. Defender has installed a special off‑road course for a fleet of miniature ride‑on Defenders for under‑11s.
Defender, Discovery and Range Rover owners are invited to complimentary hospitality at the members lawn upon presentation of their key fob, and for any canine companions, there is a dedicated ‘Doggy Hydration Station’.
We are excited to celebrate 20‑years with Burghley, and for what I know will be another hugely successful event this year. Defender and Burghley are the perfect fit. Together we make iconic moments for competitors and guests, and we are proud to feature so prominently in the event again this year. I wish everyone competing all the best and encourage visitors to come and enjoy our incredible vehicles!
