Whitley, UK, 20thOctober 2015: An exhilarating Super Sunday's racing in Bermuda, the final regatta of the 2015 Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series, saw Land Rover BAR maintain its top three place in the overall standings.

Following Saturday's abandonment of racing due to light winds, over 1500 spectator boats surrounded a revised short race course, set with a great breeze and tight racing positions making for exciting racing, which saw three different race winners.

Two outstanding top‑three finishes in races one (3rd) and three (2nd) ensured Land Rover BAR left Bermuda for Portsmouth in positive spirits. However, a malfunction to the control system for the starboard daggerboard (the vertical place that moves up and down through the hull allowing the boat to 'grip' the water) whilst in the lead during race two overshadowed what was a positive day on the water for Land Rover BAR.

Skipper and Team Principal, Ben Ainslie said: "It was a tough one for the team, we had a good first race and a terrible second race. An issue with the control system for the starboard daggerboard put us in a tough spot. The boys came back well with a second‑placed finish in the final race, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to get us back on the podium for the weekend. It's been great to race in the America's Cup venue, and there was a fantastic breeze ‑ short racing, but pretty intense and hopefully it was a great spectacle."

The Land Rover BAR team return to their base in Portsmouth to continue testing the latest T2 catamaran, and work with Land Rover's advanced engineers on developing its America's Cup boat for 2017.

Andy Claughton, Land Rover BAR Chief Technology Officer and two times America's Cup winner said: "T2 is the most technologically advanced sailing boat I've ever been involved with. It's the vital next step on our path to developing the boat that will challenge for the America's Cup, containing some of the most innovative and powerful technology ever used in this competition.

"Our ongoing collaboration with Land Rover's engineers will help us deliver world class design & engineering solutions to give us the best possible performance advantage."

The Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series continues in February 2016. The first event of 2016 is still to be confirmed.
