Gaydon, UK – 25 November 2024: Range Rover, known across the world as the leading modern luxury British vehicle brand, is celebrating a year of exceptional brand growth.
Only 18 months after JLR’s House of Brands organisation was unveiled, in a move designed to amplify the distinct character of each of JLR’s modern British brands, Range Rover has earned the ‘Made in UK’ award at the annual Walpole British Luxury Awards.
The Walpole British Luxury Awards celebrates Britain’s luxury brands and individuals as well as those who define the exciting creativity, innovation and global cultural relevance of Great Britain. The British luxury sector is worth over £81 billion; Walpole is an organisation committed to promoting and developing this industry.
Range Rover was the only automotive manufacturer to win an award at the event, held in London. In a celebration of its exemplary design leadership, Professor Gerry McGovern OBE accepted the award, which recognises Range Rover’s commitment to the creation and export of British luxury goods.
Actor Luke Evans presented the Made in the UK award to Range Rover, recognising the marque’s shift towards electrification, which has created 950 new highly skilled engineering jobs. Epitomising luxury on a global scale, record profits from exports to over 120 countries are now being reinvested to ensure continued growth.
The award follows Range Rover’s inaugural entry into Interbrand’s annual Best Global Brands, ranking the world’s Top 100 brands; a further mark of recognition of Range Rover as a globally relevant, leading modern luxury British brand.
Interbrand’s annual Best Global Brands is the world’s pre‑eminent study of brand valuation. Recognising brands with the most global value in terms of strength, role and financial forecast, it is widely recognised as the benchmark for brand value in the industry.
Range Rover has further strengthened its brand worldwide in the last two years with the launch of Range Rover Houses. These invitation‑only events present Range Rover’s vision of modern luxury and design leadership with curated, culturally relevant experiences and storytelling moments. Since 2022, more than 40 Range Rover Houses have run across over 20 countries in the world's most desirable locations, including Sydney, China, Abu Dhabi, Whistler, California and St Tropez.
