JAGUAR LAND ROVER BUILDS GLOBAL BUZZ AROUND L.A. AUTO SHOW

13 November 2010

An international auto show is a major event in and of itself, prime territory for car makers to draw worldwide attention to their newest vehicles and talk up their corporate strategies. These days, the international auto show has become just the beginning of the discussions, and definitely not the end all and be all, writes Stuart Schorr, Vice President, Communications & Public Affairs, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC.

At this year's 2010 Los Angeles International Automobile Show, Jaguar and Land Rover will be busy promoting its newest designs before, during and after the show at the L.A. Convention Center. The anchor of all this action is a Jaguar Land Rover press conference at the L.A. Auto Show Wednesday morning (Nov. 17), featuring a global debut from Range Rover and a North American debut from Jaguar ‑‑ but it's much more than that! The press conference will be streamed lived on Wednesday, at 9:45 a.m. PST at www.interactivejaguar.com and www.interactivelandrover.com.

The L.A. activities kick off with major advertising billboards from both brands all over town, starting from the moment you arrive in LA at Los Angeles International Airport. Once in town, Land Rover is taking over The W Hollywood for a Land Rover retailer meeting centered on the exciting new Range Rover Evoque. Drive by The W Hollywood and you will see a Range Rover Evoque Wireframe. Trust us, it's pretty unbelievable. That’s one, but there are four others floating around L.A. The second one was displayed at The Colony in Hollywood on Friday night (Nov. 12). Maybe you will find the rest of them, maybe not. We are holding a contest on Twitter, a sort of a scavenger hunt, where the first person to locate and then twitpic all five Range Rover Evoque Wireframes will win a Range Rover swag bag. Follow us at @interactiverr for more details.

Drawing crowds in different locations is the stunning Jaguar C‑X75 supercar concept that AutoWeek crowned as Best in Show at the recent Paris Motor Show. It will make a number of surprise public appearances at special events around town. So far, the C‑X75 has been seen at the Hollywood hotel, The Redbury and at car nut heaven, Cars and Coffee, with a lot more to come.

Party goers at The Colony nightclub in West Hollywood this weekend will get a taste of some automobiles with sex appeal to match the club scene. The Range Rover Evoque Wireframe appeared on Friday night, the Jaguar C‑X75, on Saturday night.

Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Burbank, Santa Monica, and even Orange County. Keep your eyes open locally and globally before and after the L.A. Auto Show and you might see something I can guarantee you will have never seen before. Watch this space for more unexpected news coming from Jaguar and Land Rover over the next few days. It's hard to make a splash in a town as busy and diverse as L.A., but as two globally successful iconic brands, we have a good shot.
