23 May 2011
On Saturday, May 21, the Pulse of the City was felt around the world as Range Rover threw an exclusive global interactive concert uniting three musicians across three continents in three time zones to celebrate the launch of the 2012 Range Rover Evoque, as part of the Pulse of the City Campaign.
Throughout the Range Rover Evoque Live concert event, large LED screens on stage at all three locations allowed thousands of guests the chance to see Mark Ronson perform in Shanghai, Paolo Nutini in Milan and Cee Lo Green in New York City, linking the world together in celebration of the smallest, lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever built.
TV personality Vanessa Minillo hosted the Range Rover Evoque Live concert event in New York City where she welcomed a crowd of over 1,000 Land Rover fans before introducing Singer and L.A. City Shaper, Solange Knowles who got the party started with an upbeat DJ set that had the whole crowd dancing. Knowles was joined by fellow City Shapers, N.Y. Jets Cornerback, Darrelle Revis; Socialite, Bevy Smith; Founder and Editor‑in‑Chief of Coolhunting.com, Josh Rubin and Founder of PSFK.com, Piers Fawkes. Also in attendance was Chef and Australian City Shaper, Peter Evans.
Simulcast for the global audience at 11:30 a.m. in New York, 5:30 p.m. in Milan and 11:30 p.m. in Shanghai, Mark Ronson hit the stage first performing “Valerie”, followed by Paulo Nutini performing “Pencil Full of Lead,” and Cee Lo Green closing things out with “Bright Lights Bigger City.”
The interactive concert event also marked the beginning of the Range Rover Evoque Experience, a global tour bringing the 2012 Range Rover Evoque to more than 100 cities globally and the next phase of the Pulse of the City project, a campaign to introduce the newest addition to the Range Rover family. Over the course of the past nine months Range Rover has captured the pulse of the world's cities through a dedicated app and by speaking with consumers and city dwellers about what makes their city so special.
Range Rover Evoque vehicles in 3‑door and 5‑door models were on site all day so guests could touch and feel the brand's first compact, city model and will continue to be on site at the Winter Gardens ‑ World Financial Center in NYC through to Friday, May 27th.
