Land Rover Takes Over National Homepages Over The Big Game Weekend

03 February 2012

This Sunday while you’re watching the big game with your laptop or iPad, you won’t be alone. Tapping into the expected increase in web traffic on Sunday, Land Rover will be executing national homepage takeovers, featuring the Range Rover Evoque, on NYTimes.com. The takeover, which will be live on February 5th and 6th, is expected to generate 17.5 million impressions over the two days.

“With the New York Giants in the championship game this weekend, New York being the biggest Land Rover market and our recent 2012 North American Truck of the Year award, it made sense to tie it all together. We’ve seen desktop [computer] usage rise during the day and then increased usage of tablets and smartphones throughout the early evening and primetime, so we hope to be able to take advantage of that behavior,” says Ken Bracht, Marketing Communications Manager, Land Rover North America.

On February 4th (and 5th in Los Angeles), Land Rover will also be executing regional homepage takeovers that will feature the Range Rover Evoque on ESPN.com in New York, Dallas, Boston and Los Angeles, which are estimated to generate 400,000 impressions across all sites.
