08 January 2015

Jaguar Land Rover is partnering with a number of third party app developers to offer customers a seamless apps experience across navigation, entertainment, news and current affairs, which are optimized for use in Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles equipped with InControl apps. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) going on this week in Las Vegas, Jaguar F‑TYPE sports cars were used by App developers to showcased four unique new apps, each of which function in its ground‑breaking InControl infotainment and connectivity platform, including Personal Radio by AUPEO!, Magellan SmartGPS Navigation, Rdio digital music services and Umano human narrated articles.

Personal Radio by AUPEO! – Making its North American debut, the app provides a seamless experience from the beginning to the end of a journey, no matter what mode of transport is used. If the user is enjoying music at home via their phone and speaker and then moves to their vehicle, the in‑car system will continue to play the track from the exact point where they left the house.

Magellan SmartGPS Navigation ‑ This app provides a focused user experience, going beyond the basic principles of efficient route planning to deliver additional information associated with the car’s location at any time, as well as its planned destination. The app executes a constant background search to acquire useful and timely intelligence, including traffic data, weather forecasts, fuel prices and safety camera alerts.

Rdio digital music service ‑ Rdio digital music service is available in a cross‑platform app that gives customers access to more than 30 million songs in 60 countries worldwide. Rdio’s mission is to provide access to every song, on every device instantly, online or offline tuned for the listener.

Umano human‑narrated articles ‑ Umano provides news and features from premium quality third party media organizations and also offers feature channels, including a dedicated Jaguar Land Rover channel with content covering some of its sponsored activities worldwide. Jaguar Land Rover is the first automotive manufacturer to offer the Umano app.
