Land Rover Plays Key Role In Galway Downs International Three-Day Event

TEMECULA, Calif. – Friday, November 4, 2011 – Land Rover North America is proud to be the official vehicle sponsor for the Galway Downs International Three‑Day Equestrian Event taking place in Temecula, Calif. from November 3 to November 6, 2011.

TEMECULA, Calif. ‑ Friday, November 4, 2011‑ Land Rover North America is proud to be the official vehicle sponsor for the Galway Downs International Three‑Day Equestrian Event taking place in Temecula, Calif. from November 3 to November 6, 2011.

Now in its 13th year of operation, this year's event will have representation from six nations ‑ the United States, Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Ecuador and Thailand. The featured CCI3* division will include 39 horses, in addition to, 28 horses in the CCI2*, 56 entered in the classic‑format and the short‑format sections of the CCI1*, and 52 are entered in the training three‑day event.

Two members of the Gold‑medal winning 2011 Pan American Games Eventing Team, Buck Davidson and Michael Pollard, and the alternate, Kristin Schmolze, were awarded Land Rover Competition and Training Grants to travel to Temecula, CA and compete at this prestigious event.

Land Rover North America will have an off‑roading course set up for the duration of the three day event to provide competitors and spectators with the exclusive opportunity to drive the newest member of the 2012 line‑up ‑ the Range Rover Evoque.

The all‑new Range Rover Evoque ‑ the lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever produced ‑ brings its stylish presence to North America. The Range Rover Evoque stays true to the core values of Range Rover; providing premium levels of craftsmanship, luxury, performance and Land Rover multi‑terrain capability while embodied in a more compact package.

As the official vehicle of the United States Equestrian Federation, Land Rover North America is building on last year's support of the U.S Eventing Team by creating a new initiative ‑ the Land Rover Competition and Training Grant Program for Eventing Riders. The program will benefit horse and rider combinations allowing them to compete abroad and gain valuable international experience as they prepare for the 2012 London Olympic Games. Grant recipients will be offered assistance at international competitions that will serve as selection trials for the Olympic Games, and are an annual showcase of some of the very best eventing competition in the world.
