MAHWAH, N.J., (January 3, 2012) ‑ Land Rover North America today announced that the all‑new 2012 Range Rover Evoque has been named the '2012 International Truck of the Year' by Road & Travel Magazine. The 2012 Range Rover Evoque is also the featured vehicle on the cover of Road & Travel's January issue, celebrating the 16th anniversary of their awards program.

The annual International Car of the Year (ICOTY) Awards is presented in ten different categories to new vehicles manufactured internationally and available in the U.S. market. The awards ceremony is attended by industry leaders and media at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).
The ICOTY jury, made up of nationally‑renowned automotive
journalists, selected the 2012 Range Rover Evoque as the most
emotionally compelling truck for the new model year. "The Evoque is
one of the most emotionally charged vehicles we've seen pass
through this category in many years. The vast majority of the jury
agreed that this exciting and stunning new vehicle will bond
effortlessly with consumer lifestyles in both mind and spirit,"
said Courtney Caldwell, ICOTY founder and executive producer.
The 2012 Range Rover Evoque is the lightest and most fuel
efficient Range Rover ever produced. The vehicle stays true to the
core values of Range Rover, providing premium levels of
craftsmanship, luxury, performance and Land Rover multi‑terrain
capability while embodied in a more fuel efficient package.
The Range Rover Evoque achieves a 28 MPG EPA highway rating and
sends a message that the company is serious about sustainability
and determined to deliver vehicles that are both relevant and
highly desirable.
The Range Rover Evoque is available in two versions: a coupe and a five‑door, with starting prices of $44,995* and $43,995*, respectively. Every Range Rover Evoque destined for the United States will be equipped with all‑wheel drive and will feature a 240‑horsepower, turbocharged, direct fuel injected, four‑cylinder engine coupled to a six‑speed automatic transmission. The Range Rover Evoque has been engineered with Land Rover capability. It can wade in nearly 20 inches of water, operate at tilt angles of up to 45 degrees, and features the latest Land Rover Terrain Response® system, which has modes for sand, mud, ruts, grass, gravel and snow.
