MAHWAH, NJ. (May 3, 2012) ‑ Land Rover North America (LRNA) has announced the winners of the "Land Rover Tailgate Challenge" held on Saturday, April 28 at the Rolex Kentucky Three‑Day Event, presented by Bridgestone. Dr. James D. White and his wife Margaret won for the best‑decorated, best‑catered and most creative tailgate party.
"We are absolutely thrilled to be named the Land Rover Tailgate Challenge winners," commented Dr. White. "My wife and I have been enthusiasts of both Land Rover and the equestrian community for many years now, so this is quite an honor."
The Whites, who are long‑standing customers of Land Rover Cincinnati, have owned more than eight Land Rovers. Their equestrian‑themed Land Rover LR4 tailgate spread impressed each of the judges ‑‑ Andy Goss, President, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC.; Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President, Land Rover North America; and Lee Carter, Executive Director, Equestrian Events Inc., producer of the Rolex Kentucky Three‑Day Event.
"The Whites' tailgate presentation was very well executed. Their display best represented the Land Rover brand and had quite the equestrian flare. We knew they had won as soon as we approached the car," explained McCullough.
As their prize, the Whites were awarded two 2013 Rolex Kentucky Sponsor Pavilion Hospitality tickets, two reserved grandstand seats for the Event, a premium tailgate space and the use of a Land Rover for the weekend for the 2013 event. All‑told, next year's Rolex Kentucky Three‑Day Event will be a special one for the Whites as they look to defend their title.
Carter added, "Land Rover is a great supporter of the Rolex Kentucky Three‑Day Event and this year's addition of the Tailgate Challenge was a fantastic success. The Tailgate adds another dimension of fun to the weekend festivities and enhances the overall experience for all attendees. We look forward to it for many years to come."
