(MAHWAH, N.J.) ‑ January 16, 2013 ‑ Land Rover North America is proud to announce today that the 2012 Range Rover has once again been awarded the Polk Automotive Loyalty Award in the Luxury SUV category.
This is the eighth overall Polk Automotive Loyalty Award for the Range Rover, which includes having won in the Prestige SUV category in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2011. This accolade also marks the fifth consecutive win in the SUV category for outstanding owner loyalty.
"With the recent introduction of the next generation Range Rover, it sends a strong message for the 2012 Range Rover to be honored with the Polk Automotive Loyalty Award for the fifth consecutive year," said Andy Goss, President, Jaguar Land Rover North America. "We are pleased that our customers continue to embrace the unique experience of owning a Range Rover as they are our greatest ambassadors."
The Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are presented to OEMs that demonstrate a manufacturer's ability to retain owners over repeat buying cycles and are the only fact‑based awards in the industry based on owner loyalty. Loyalty is determined when a household that owns a new vehicle returns to market and purchases or leases another new vehicle of the same model or make. The 2012 awards are based on an analysis of 5.9 million households that purchased new vehicles during the 2012 model year.
"While there have been many repeat winners over the years, few models have dominated a category the way the Range Rover has in the Luxury SUV segment," said Brad Smith, Director of Polk's Loyalty Management Practice. "Land Rover's continued success in retaining Range Rover owners is evidence of superior customer handling and a strong product offering,"
