For 2014, the Range Rover Evoque debuts one of the first nine‑speed automatic transmissions in a passenger vehicle, a 2‑liter 240hp Turbocharged Direct Injected engine teamed with the new ZF® 9HP 9‑speed automatic transmission enhances both performance and efficiency. The sporty Range Rover Evoque, the smallest and lightest Range Rover model, has become its worldwide best seller, with more than 170,000 sold in its first 18 months.

A new Active Driveline system with active differentials and torque vectoring also debuts on the 2014 Range Rover Evoque as standard in all models3. The new 4WD system reduces driveline drag by decoupling 4WD during steady‑state driving at speeds above 22 mph, automatically activating 4WD drive within 300 milliseconds whenever it is needed. Active Torque Biasing uses an electronically controlled differential to distribute torque between the rear wheels, optimizing traction and stability. In addition, a Torque Vectoring feature further enhances agility and safety by redirecting torque among all four wheels to counteract understeer3

Land Rover has re‑powered its luxurious all‑purpose, all‑terrain LR4 model for 2014 and also revisedfront‑end styling. A new 3.0‑liter 340hp supercharged V6 engine and an 8‑speed automatic transmission replace the previous 5.0‑liter V8 and six‑speed automatic, yielding comparable performance with better fuel economy. An Intelligent Stop‑Start system also helps reduce fuel consumption in certain driving situations.

Land Rover has refined the all‑terrain capability for the 2014 LR4, making a new, lighter single‑speed Torsen® transfer case 4WD system standard and offering a two‑speed transfer case 4WD system as part of an optional Heavy Duty Package. Expected to be selected by customers who take the LR4 into difficult off‑road situations, the Heavy Duty Package also equips the vehicle with an active locking rear differential and a full‑size spare tire.

Jaguar Land Rover has announced the first wave of third party apps for its innovative new smartphone integration platform ‑  InControl™ Apps ‑ which has been developed in conjunction with BOSCH SoftTec.

Jaguar Land Rover has worked closely with leading third party app developers to enable an initial suite of Android™ and iOS™ compatible applications that will greatly enhance the in‑vehicle user experience for customers. The platform will allow access to apps including: iHeart Radio; Inrix; Stitcher; Glympse; Sygic; Parkopedia; Hotelseeker; Cityseeker; Airmotion News; Winston and Mobile Day. 

For Land Rover, InControl™ Apps will be first introduced on the 2015 Range Rover Evoque. This new in‑car technology complements the existing infotainment system by bringing the convenience, familiarity and original look and feel of compatible smartphone apps into the owner's vehicle. The InControl Remote smartphone app allows owners to prepare for a trip by checking fuel levels and range remotely, find their vehicle in a crowded parking lot and check if they have left doors or windows open. They can also download journey details to assist in claiming business mileage expenses. InControl Secure tracks the vehicle should it be stolen.
