(Toronto, ON) ‑ February 12, 2015 ‑ Land Rover will announce the introduction of diesel power options to Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and showcase its 2015 model year line up at the 2015 Canadian Auto Show held February 13 to 22, 2015. The 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR will be making its Canadian debut.

Land Rover Canadian Diesel Announcement

Land Rover will offer consumers the option of fuel efficient diesel powertrains in two 2016 model year luxury SUVs, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. The Range Rover Td6 and Range Rover Sport Td6 SUVs will deliver a 32 percent improvement over the supercharged V6. Total range increases to 1,058 km, a gain of 8.0% for the Range Rover Sport and 3.3% for the Range Rover.

The two new luxury diesel SUVs debuted at the 2015 North American International Auto Show and go on sale fall 2015.

The 3.0‑litre Td6 turbocharged V6 diesel engine delivers effortless performance thanks to 254 horsepower and a low‑end torque output of 440 lb‑ft. Peak torque arrives at 1,750rpm in the Td6 while the gasoline V6 produces its 332 lb‑ft (450 Nm) at 3,500 rpm. This high torque output at low RPM, makes the diesel Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models particularly well suited to towing heavy loads and off‑roading where reaching maximum torque at low RPM is extremely beneficial.

Similarly, the low‑end torque of the Td6 allows the vehicles to deliver 0‑100 acceleration times comparable to the higher horsepower V6 gasoline models. The Range Rover Sport Td6 and Range Rover Td6 accelerate from 0‑100 km/h in 7.1 and 7.4 seconds respectively, compared to 6.9 and 7.1 seconds for gasoline V6 models.

2015 Range Rover Sport SVR

The new‑generation Range Rover Sport, which already established its performance credentials by setting a record for SUVs climbing Pikes Peak (12 min, 35.61 sec.), generates even more excitement for 2015 with the introduction of the ultra‑performance Range Rover Sport SVR model.

The new Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by a 5.0‑litre supercharged V8 engine tuned to produce 550hp and 502lb‑ft of torque ‑ increases of 40hp and 41lb‑ft over the supercharged V8 in the Range Rover Sport Supercharged model. An electronically controlled two‑stage active exhaust gives the Range Rover Sport SVR an inspired soundtrack to accompany the astonishing performance at higher engine speeds while maintaining refinement during every day driving.

Emphasizing all‑terrain capability, vehicles are equipped with 21‑inch alloy wheels with 275/45 R21 all‑season tires. The exterior design of the SVR makes a powerful visual impact while also enhancing cooling and aerodynamic efficiencies. Design enhancements include larger air intakes in the front bumper to increase airflow to two intercoolers that reduce the temperature of pressurized air from the supercharger before it enters the engine.

A modified interior featuring sport seats provides visual differentiation and offers increased support during spirited driving. The SVR was subject to exhaustive testing, with prototype vehicles completing nearly 1,000 laps around Germany's Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit; its best lap was just 8 minutes 14 seconds.

2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport

With an MSRP of $41,4901, the new Land Rover Discovery Sport is a versatile premium compact SUV that is the first member of the new Discovery vehicle family. A dynamic design with a compact footprint provides seven‑passenger seating in a "5+2" configuration. The 2015 Discovery Sport will deliver a highly refined combination of performance, safety and efficiency thanks to a body shell of high‑strength steel and lightweight aluminum, a 240hp turbocharged 2.0‑litre engine, nine‑speed automatic transmission and standard all‑wheel drive.

New Land Rover innovations debut in the Discovery Sport, including available Autonomous Emergency Braking3 and a new touchscreen infotainment system4.

"The Discovery Sport is the perfect vehicle for the Canadian terrain and climate," said Lindsay Duffield, Jaguar Land Rover Canada President. "Not only is it capable and luxurious, its price point makes it available to even more Canadians who want to enter the compact premium SUV market."

Designed and engineered at the Land Rover Development Centre in the UK, the Discovery Sport will be produced at the company's award‑winning manufacturing facility in Halewood, Liverpool, in the United Kingdom. It goes on sale in early 2015 alongside the existing seven‑seat Land Rover LR4 in Canada, which is sold as the Discovery in over 170 markets worldwide.

2015 Range Rover

The long‑wheelbase Range Rover models provide 7.3‑inches more rear seat legroom than standard‑wheelbase models and, when equipped with the optional Executive Seating Package, an increased seatback recline of 17 degrees.

Changes to the 2015 Range Rover focus on comfort, convenience and personalization options. The front seats now offer 12‑way power adjustment with the addition of power cushion tilt, and the base model gets a fixed panoramic glass roof. (The sliding panoramic roof remains an option for this trim level and is standard for all others.)

On models with the power folding rear seat, there's a new Intelligent Seat Cargo Mode: when rear power‑fold is activated, the front seats and rear headrests automatically adjust to avoid clashing and then return to their original positions (or as close as possible) once the rear seats are lowered. The Autobiography models offer a new upper front seat articulation feature, which had been introduced on the 2014.5 Autobiography LWB models.

New Convenience and Premium Packs group popular options, while the new Driver Technology Pack enhances driving safety by equipping the Range Rover with Blind Spot Monitor with Closing Vehicle Sensing and Reverse Traffic Detection, Lane Departure Warning and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Showing renowned Range Rover attention to detail, the 2015 models get new puddle lamps, which now project a silhouette for the vehicle from the side mirrors, rather than the Range Rover script used before. New 22‑inch wheels for long‑wheelbase versions are among the new wheel options available for 2015.

The fourth‑generation Range Rover debuted in 2013 as the world's first luxury SUV with aluminum unibody construction for significantly improved strength, agility and improved fuel efficiency. The roomiest (especially in long‑wheelbase form) and most luxurious Range Rover ever, the new‑generation model still retains the true dual‑purpose spirit of the original, combining impeccable British craftsmanship and serene on‑road comfort with the brand's renowned all‑terrain capability. With recent additions of ultra‑luxury variants, the Range Rover retains its position as the world's luxury SUV of choice.

2015 Range Rover Sport

The new‑generation Range Rover Sport, which already established its performance credentials by setting a record for SUVs climbing Pikes Peak (12 min, 35.61 sec.), generates even more excitement for 2015 with the introduction of the ultra‑performance Range Rover Sport SVR model. In addition, other Range Rover Sport models offer additional safety, luxury and convenience features for 2015.

Created by the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations team, the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR is the highest‑performance Land Rover vehicle ever, capable of accelerating from 0‑100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and achieving an electronically limited top track speed of 260 km/h2. The SVO team also specially tuned the ZF® 8HP70 eight‑speed automatic transmission and four‑wheel drive chassis to give the Range Rover Sport SVR exceptional agility while also preserving all‑terrain capability.

Developed alongside the new‑generation Range Rover, the Range Rover Sport delivers exceptional on‑road dynamics with genuine Land Rover all‑terrain capability. The Range Rover Sport presents a bold and muscular exterior, luxurious interior, and the practical flexibility provided by the option of 5+2 third row seating for occasional use.

Featuring Land Rover advanced air suspension and innovative dynamic chassis technologies, the Range Rover Sport uses aluminum unibody architecture to achieve a weight savings of approximately 360kg (800lbs.) over previous generation model. (The previous generation vehicle featured an "Integrated body‑frame" composed of a steel unibody mounted on a full frame chassis). The weight reduction transforms the vehicle's dynamic performance, enabling it to blend agile handling with exceptional comfort and to offer a unique mix of sporting luxury and a dynamic, engaging driving experience.

2015 Range Rover Evoque

The Range Rover Evoque, which gained advanced new driveline technologies and driver assistance features for 2014, joins other Range Rover models in offering a top‑of‑line Autobiography trim level for 2015.

For other Evoque models, MSRPs remain the same as for 2014, and some option pack prices have been reduced. The Rear Seat Entertainment system, for example, has an MSRP of $2,000 ‑ a reduction of $800 from the 2014 model year. The new Convenience Pack for the Pure and Pure City combines navigation and Passive Keyless Entry, which had not previously been available on these trims.

All Range Rover Evoque models are powered by a 2‑litre, 240‑horsepower direct‑injected turbocharged 4‑cylinder engine that's teamed to a 9‑speed automatic transmission and the advanced Active Driveline four‑wheel drive system4. The Range Rover Evoque is the most fuel‑efficient Range Rover model.

The limited‑availability Autobiography becomes the most exclusive version of the Range Rover Evoque, with just 25 units available for the 2015 model year. These high‑end versions are distinguished by a modified Dynamic body kit, exclusive new 20‑inch diamond‑turned forged wheels with light silver contrast and exclusive cabin luxury.

2015 Land Rover LR4

Land Rover last year re‑powered the LR4 with a new supercharged V6 engine and 8‑speed automatic transmission.

In addition for 2015, Adaptive Cruise Control is available for the first time in the LR4. The system allows the driver to set and adjust a distance from a vehicle traveling ahead4.The 2015 LR4 also adds the convenience of new standard side steps, which help make entering and exiting the vehicle easier. New exterior colours and interior trim options round out the changes for this award‑winning, full‑capability luxury SUV.

The choice of two different 4WD systems introduced for 2014 continues in the 2015 LR4. The standard single‑speed Torsen® transfer case 4WD system offers capability that will suit many drivers. The available Heavy Duty Package, for customers who take the LR4 into difficult off‑road situations, features a two‑speed transfer case 4WD system and also includes an active locking rear differential and a full‑size spare tire4.

2015 Land Rover LR2

The LR2 offers the brand's renowned off‑road capability in a vehicle that provides outstanding on‑road ride comfort and agility. The combination of full‑time intelligent four‑wheel drive and the renowned Land Rover Terrain Response®control system2 gives the LR2 the ability to take trails unsuitable for some luxury crossovers.

The 2015 LR2 gains the heated windshield and Rear Parking Aid as standard features for 2015, with no change to the MSRP from 2014. The new Premium Pack option essentially combines the previous Cold Climate Pack and Appearance Pack along with a 19‑inch wheel that was not available for 2014.
