(WHITLEY, U.K.) ‑ August 5, 2015 ‑ Land Rover has launched 'A Life Extraordinary' ‑ a global film project that looks at pioneering people from around the world and the attributes that make them extraordinary. The film series highlights the innovative spirit at the heart of the Land Rover brand and its determination to go Above and Beyond.
The project has been captured in an eight minute short‑form documentary narrated by Dr. Brian R. Little, from the Department of Psychology, Cambridge and features stories from four individual talents: Xian Zhang, music director and conductor; Anouk Wipprecht, a leading fashion tech designer; Tom Lalampaa, award‑winning conservationist; Victor Minibaev, double European diving champion.
As well as the documentary, four individual films have been created, sharing the personal stories of each pioneer through compelling interviews and fascinating insight from leading psychologist Dr. Little. Each film focuses on the significance of a decisive moment or performance that has informed the path of each pioneer and led them to their current position as a leader in their field.
These four extraordinary talents were chosen due to their ability to break boundaries and to venture into the unknown. Each has demonstrated relentless ambition and a willingness to succeed and as a result is excelling in their chosen profession.
Dr. Brian R. Little, author of the best‑selling Me, Myself and Us, is a pioneer in the study of how personality influences human flourishing.
Dr. Brian R. Little said, "This project brilliantly illustrates what it means to truly go above and beyond in life. We have found four genuinely pioneering people who embody what it means to push your limits and demonstrate the power of innovation. Throughout this project, I have been able to explore what really motivates people to live beyond their boundaries."
The films were created by BAFTA winning director Ben Anthony and production company Sundog Pictures. As a filmmaker, Ben's work often challenges perceptions to reveal inner lives and he has been praised for his powerful approach to storytelling.
Dominic Chambers, Global Head of Digital Marketing for Jaguar Land Rover said, "Land Rover has always been synonymous with innovation and pushing the boundaries of design and technology with our vehicles. To create such an enlightening film that explores the human psyche and what drives it to keep breaking barriers and seek the impossible has been remarkable, and illustrates how important it is that people all over the world keep pioneering."
The project launches online on 5th August 2015 at http://www.landrover.com/above‑and‑beyond/a‑life‑extraordinary/index.html.
