(MISSISSAUGA, ON) February 11, 2016 ‑ Land Rover Canada is proud to announce that the luxury automotive brand has been honoured with three 2016 ALG Canadian Residual Value Awards for "Best Premium Brand," "Best Midsize Utility Vehicle ‑ 2 Row," and "Best Premium Compact Utility" for the 2016 Range Rover Sport and 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport respectively.

ALG's 8th annual Canadian Residual Value Awards recognize automakers' outstanding achievements for vehicles that are predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a three‑year period for luxury brands and a four‑year period for mainstream brands. Awards are given in 27 vehicle categories and also for the two brands with the highest overall predicted residual values among all mainstream and all premium vehicles. This year's awards are based on 2016 model year vehicles.

"Being awarded "Best Premium Brand" by ALG Canada two years in a row is a great honour for Land Rover, especially in such a competitive segment," says Santino Pirillo, Director of Sales, Jaguar Land Rover Canada. "It is a real testament to the quality, design and value we provide with each model in our family of vehicles."

The second‑generation Range Rover Sport is the fastest, most agile and responsive Land Rover vehicle ever. The Range Rover Sport delivers exceptional on‑road dynamics with genuine Land Rover all‑terrain capability. The technologically advanced Range Rover Sport presents an assertive and muscular exterior, luxurious interior and the practical flexibility provided by the option of 5+2 third row seating for occasional use.  The 2016 model Range Rover Sport sees the addition of a Td6 diesel powertrain and the HST Limited EditionV6 380hp powertrain, among many other enhancements.

Land Rover continues momentum for the 2016 Discovery Sport with new powertrains, upgraded infotainment and connectivity systems and enhanced driver assistance systems.  Delivering a refined combination of performance, efficiency and capability, the 2016 Discovery Sport features a 2.0L 240hp turbocharged engine and optional 5+2 seating.

"The Range Rover Sport once again claims the ALG Residual Value Award in 2016 thanks to sustained high consumer demand and the exclusivity of the luxury Land Rover nameplate," said Geoff Helby, Canada Regional Director for ALG. "Offering the rugged and refined styling of the Range Rover in a more manageable size for urban daily use, the Range Rover Sport has been a smash hit for the Land Rover brand since its debut in 2005. The Range Rover Sport paved the way for an expansion of the Range Rover sub‑brand and sustained high demand has resulted in strong residual values for the last 10 years."

Award winners are determined through careful study of the competition in each segment, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. Vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand and pricing and marketing strategies represent key factors that impact ALG's residual value forecasts.
