(MAHWAH, NJ) – April 8, 2019 – For the second year in a row, Land Rover will return as the title sponsor of the Land Rover Kentucky Three‑Day Event presented by MARS EQUESTRIAN from April 25‑28, taking place at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY. Alongside the world‑class equestrian competition, Land Rover returns with a full program of experiential customer activations for visitors of all ages.

This year’s starting line‑up is anticipated to be one of the most competitive yet.The renowned equestrian competition, won in 2018 by current world no. 1, Oliver Townend of Great Britain, will be sure to challenge those striving for their share of the significant $400,000 prize money.

Returning by popular demand will be the ‘Start Off‑Road’ teen‑driving experience, first introduced in 2018, which aims to introduce young adults to the enjoyment of driving, while also reinforcing road safety and awareness. Teenage guests ages 14 years or older will have the opportunity to drive either a Land Rover Discovery Sport or Range Rover Evoque on a multi‑terrain track under the watchful and highly trained eyes of a Land Rover Driving Instructor.1

Alongside the teen‑driving experience in the Sponsorship Village will be the adult off‑road experience, which allows ticket holders the opportunity to test‑drive a full‑size Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery, the midsize Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Velar on off‑road terrain.2 A ‘Junior Drive Experience’ will also be offered to children aged four to ten‑years‑old. This experience offers young children the chance to navigate a specially designed course in mini electric cars, scaled down from the original Land Rover Series I vehicle.1

“Now in our second year as title sponsor, we are excited to return to this world‑class competition event and continue our long‑standing relationship with the equestrian community,” said Kim McCullough, Vice President of Marketing, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC. “The Kentucky Three‑Day Event is the perfect environment to showcase our newest vehicles and provide guests of all ages the chance to experience them in a fun way that truly shows off our unrivaled capability and performance.”

In addition to the many drive experiences being offered, Land Rover will also bring back its ‘Ultimate Stable Experience’. This original concept allows visitors to gain perspective into the factors that make each Land Rover model distinct and unique. This year, Land Rover will feature the new 2020 Range Rover Evoque within the stable, alongside an array of the finest equestrian apparel and equipment. The Ultimate Stable will also host accompanying competitors offering autograph signings for fans, as well as a miniature pony that can be pet by any children present.

An enduring favorite in Lexington, the ‘Land Rover Tailgate Experience’ will also be back this year. Best described as an American tradition with a quintessentially British twist, participants compete to create their most inspired vision of a British tailgate. The winning participants are awarded an exclusive 2019 ticket package and tailgate spot as the top prize for the most inventive and stylish tailgate.

Located next to the drive experiences will be ‘The Rover Lounge’, which provides a sanctuary for any canine friends attending the event, where they can find refreshments of treats and fresh water.

The triumphant rider of the 2019 Land Rover Kentucky Three‑Day Event presented by MARS EQUESTRIAN will not only claim the major share of the $400,000 purse, but will also be presented with the keys to a 12‑month lease of a 2019 Land Rover Discovery.

Over the four days of elite equine action at the Kentucky Horse Park, over 80,000 spectators are anticipated to attend the Five‑Star Three‑Day Event, of which there are only six annually worldwide. Fans will be able to relive all the action with the broadcast of the competition on NBC on May 5 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM EST and again on NBCSN on June 23 from 1:00 – 2:00 PM EST. About The Land Rover Kentucky Three‑Day Event

The Land Rover Kentucky Three‑Day Event is the nation’s premier Three‑Day Event and one of the most prestigious equestrian competitions in the world. The Fédération Equestre Internationale (International Equestrian Federation – FEI), the world's governing body of equestrian sports, has designated the Land Rover Kentucky Three‑Day Event as a ‘Four Star’ eventing competition, the highest designation, which is given only to the Olympic Games, World Championships, and six annual events around the world. “Land Rover Kentucky” is the only Four Star event in the Western Hemisphere. Known as the “Best Weekend All Year,” the Land Rover Kentucky Three‑Day Event returns to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, April 25‑28, 2019

Now in its 41st year, the Land Rover Kentucky Three‑Day Event is the nation’s premier Three‑Day Event featuring Olympic‑level riders and horses from across the nation and around the world in what can best be described as an equestrian triathlon. Known as “The Best Weekend All Year,” the Land Rover Kentucky Three‑Day Event is a multi‑day highly‑competitive event in which the world’s best horses and riders vie for their share of $400,000 in prize money, as well as a shot at the $350,000 Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing, which is awarded to any rider who wins the Land Rover Kentucky, Mitsubishi Motors Badminton and Land Rover Burghley Five Star Events in succession.

The Land Rover Kentucky Three‑Day Event recently received the pinnacle Five Star status from the FEI having been a four star event since 1998. As of January 1, 2019, it is now one of only six annual Five Star three‑day events in the world along with Badminton and Burghley in England; Luhmuhlen in Germany; Pau in France; and Adelaide in Australia. Land Rover Kentucky Three‑Day Event is the only five‑star event in the Western Hemisphere, and as the nation’s premier event, it also serves as the Land Rover/USEF National CCI5*‑L Championship for the American riders.
