MAHWAH, NJ, February 14, 2010 ‑ Land Rover North America announced today that Range Rover will serve as the official automotive sponsor of the Marchesa Fall 2011 Fashion Presentation. The Marchesa presentation will take place at the Center 548 in Manhattan on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, from 3:30 to 4:30pm. Marchesa designer and co‑founder Georgina Chapman is currently also involved with Range Rover's City Shaper project, featuring the all‑new Range Rover Evoque.
"Among the most glamorous arrivals in Manhattan this week will be those VIPs taking a Range Rover to the Marchesa Fall 2011 Fashion Presentation in New York," said Stuart Schorr, vice president of communications and public affairs, Jaguar Land Rover North America. "As automotive sponsor of the Marchesa Fall 2011 Fashion Presentation, Range Rover continues its partnership with Marchesa and its co‑founder and designer Georgina Chapman, both renowned for their timeless luxury, quality and style. We wish Marchesa the best for another memorable Presentation."
The newest Range Rover model remains true to the vehicle's classic proportions and unique silhouette. The refined detailing and cleaner surfaces of the new model retain the timeless and noble qualities which are traditional hallmarks of Range Rover design and exemplify why the Range Rover is heralded as one of the most significant vehicles in the history of motoring. The Range Rover is known for luxury and capability. It was the first fully‑capable luxury 4x4 and trail‑blazed the development of the SUV category. Sold around the world, from Milan to Miami, Dublin to Dubai, Barcelona to Bangkok, the Range Rover remains the definitive choice for the luxury SUV buyer.
Co‑founded by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, the company's namesake and muse is the noted eccentric European style icon Marchesa Luisa Casati. The collection, designed by Georgina Chapman, is available in the United States at Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and specialty stores nationwide. Internationally it can be found at Harrods in London, Holt Renfrew in Canada, Joyce in Hong Kong, Alothman in Kuwait and other prestigious stores worldwide.
It was announced last Fall that Chapman will collaborate with Range Rover over the next 12 months to launch the highly anticipated Range Rover Evoque, the smallest, lightest, most fuel‑efficient Range Rover ever produced. As a Range Rover Evoque City Shaper, Chapman will participate in the Pulse of the City project where she will share her journeys around New York City to create a living interactive guide to the urban spaces they call home.
