WHAT’S NEW FOR LAND ROVER: 2019 / 2020 MODEL YEAR HIGHLIGHTS

There are three families of vehicles under the Land Rover brand umbrella – Range Rover, Discovery, and Defender – each with its own defining characteristics, personality and positioning; sharing design leadership and a sense of engineering integrity which Land Rover products are best known for. 

• The Range Rover Family was first introduced to the US market in 1987. The Range Rover brand is distinguished by its sense of refinement and outright luxury. Range Rover products are equally at home driving in the countryside as they are chauffeuring passengers to the opera. 
• The Discovery Family bridges the gap between utility and refinement, for absolute versatility. With variable five‑ and seven‑passenger seating options available in both the compact Discovery Sport and full‑size Discovery, this family of vehicles utilizes the latest connectivity technologies, innovative storage solutions and on‑/off‑road capability to shuttle owners and their passengers to and from their commitments in the utmost comfort.

• The Defender Family is the workhorse of the brand. Exported to more than 170 nations worldwide, the Defender made a name for itself in developing countries, on farms and in militaries around the globe as a durable, utilitarian vehicle that could reliably transport its passengers to all four corners of the globe no matter the terrain. The Defender was last exported to the US market in the 1997MY and concluded global production in January of 2016 following almost 70 years of ongoing series Land Rover production.

All 2019 and 2020 vehicles equipped with the Land Rover InControl^® Touch Pro^™ or Touch Pro Duo^™ infotainment systems with navigation, InControl^® Apps^™, and Wi‑Fi connectivity will be available with a Smartphone Pack that includes Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^™4,9. The Smartphone Pack will be offered either as optional or standard equipment, depending on the model and trim level¹. This feature is standard on the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery.

Drivers are now able to interact with key mobile apps, such as Spotify, WhatsApp and, with the release of iOS12, Waze through the vehicle’s touchscreen, in a manner similar to a smartphone. Where equipped, certain functionality can even be controlled via the vehicle’s Voice Control, providing additional convenience. Owners will simply connect their smartphone to the vehicle via a compatible USB cable and select Apple CarPlay^® or Android Auto^™ on the vehicle’s touchscreen^4,9.

In addition to the new Smartphone Pack, Land Rover has made a number of other key enhancements to the InControl Touch Pro^™ infotainment system for the 2019 model year, including:

• Major graphical refresh on the “Home,” “Extra Features” and “Customizable Homepage” screens
• Minor user experience changes to the button and icon placement on “Media Screen”
• Additional short cut buttons on the home screen for key functions within Navigation, Media and Phone

2020 RANGE ROVER EVOQUE

The 2020 Range Rover Evoque is a sophisticated evolution of the original model that pioneered the luxury compact SUV market. Featuring an all‑new design language, advanced driver assistance technologies, a new hybrid‑electric powertrain option and groundbreaking off‑road technologies, the new, second generation, Range Rover Evoque is at home in both the city and the mountains

• New Evoque stands out from luxury competitors with reductionist exterior design, a luxuriously‑crafted interior featuring the latest in‑car technologies and a host of advanced driver assistance features
• All‑new 48‑volt 296hp mild‑hybrid (MHEV) powertrain available alongside a 246hp Ingenium four‑cylinder gasoline engine

2019 RANGE ROVER VELAR

Bringing a new dimension of modernity and elegance to the Range Rover family, the Range Rover Velar offers levels of luxury, refinement and all‑terrain capability never before seen in the mid‑size SUV segment. The Velar was named World Car Design of the Year at the 2018 World Car Awards.

For 2019, the Range Rover Velar features new technology and standard equipment. A more streamlined lineup offers customers a choice of 2.0‑liter turbocharged gas and diesel engines, as well as a powerful 3.0‑liter supercharged gas V6 in two outputs.

• New Smartphone Pack with Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^™ available as a no cost option^4,9
• Adaptive Dynamics now standard equipment on all trims⁶
• 3.0‑liter supercharged gas V6 now offered with choice of two outputs – 340hp and 380hp

2020 RANGE ROVER SPORT

The Range Rover Sport is a luxury performance SUV with dynamic on‑road character as well as all‑terrain capability embodying the Land Rover brand’s drive to go above and beyond.

For 2020, the Range Rover Sport features an even more diverse lineup of powertrain options. A new plug‑in hybrid (PHEV) inline four‑cylinder gas engine is now offered alongside supercharged V8 gas, mild‑hybrid (MHEV) inline six‑cylinder gas and turbocharged V6 diesel engines.

• New Plug‑In Hybrid (PHEV) powertrain, badged P400e, produces a total output of 398hp and 472 lb‑ft of torque⁵
• Introduced in 2019, the Mild‑Hybrid (MHEV) inline six‑cylinder Ingenium engine delivers smooth acceleration and enhanced performance over previous gas V6 offerings
• Portofino Blue and Eiger Grey join the palette of striking exterior paint colors

2020 RANGE ROVER

The Range Rover represents the pinnacle of luxury travel, making every journey a treasured experience whether driving or being driven. Building on the significant updates made for the 2018 and 2019 model years, the 2020 Range Rover receives new electrified powertrains and expanded personalization options.

For the 2020 model year, Land Rover will offer an all‑new mild‑hybrid (MHEV) inline six‑cylinder Ingenium gasoline engine in two outputs, as well as a plug‑in hybrid electric (PHEV) powertrain option in the popular Range Rover full‑size SUV.

• Available P400e Plug‑In Hybrid (PHEV) powertrain combines electric and gasoline power
• All‑new mild‑hybrid (MHEV) 3.0L inline six‑cylinder (I6) Ingenium gasoline engine offered in both 355hp and 395hp outputs

2020 DISCOVERY SPORT

The new Discovery Sport compact premium SUV has been transformed to make it more versatile and technologically‑advanced for the 2020 model year. More intuitive, practical and convenient than ever before, the versatile and compact 5+2 SUV⁸ has been updated with the latest user‑friendly technology and more powerful, electrified engines.

Embracing the adventurous spirit that has defined the Discovery family for the past 30 years, the new Discovery Sport strikes a balance between a bold evolution of the original design and the familiarity that comes with no‑compromise capability.

• Refined exterior design features new front and rear bumpers, grille design and full‑LED exterior lighting
• All‑new 48‑volt 286hp mild‑hybrid (MHEV) powertrain available alongside an uprated 246hp Ingenium four‑cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine

2019 DISCOVERY

Combining British desirability with an unstoppable spirit of adventure, the Land Rover Discovery is an authentic, full‑size, seven‑seat SUV⁸ that brings new levels of capability and versatility to the brand family.

The fifth generation Discovery features a number of enhancements for 2019 including new technology, expanded advanced driver assistance system features, new personalization options and added standard equipment to deliver greater value for customers.

• SE derivative adds a range of new standard equipment including LED Headlights with Signature DRL, Powered Inner Tailgate, Lane Keep Assist, Reverse Traffic Detection, and more⁶.
• New Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) offer increased standard features, plus an optional Drive Pack, Park Pack and Driver Assist Pack, and new standalone features⁶

The driver is responsible for determining the conditions of the route being driven.
