20 September 2022

  • 300 Land Rover retailer employees from around the U.S. and Canada set to compete in the off ‑ road skills challenge at the Land Rover Experience Center in Manchester, Vermont
  • Competitors will drive the 2023 Defender 110 specially outfitted for the competition

Land Rover is proud to announce the return of its TReK 2022 adventure off‑road competition for U.S. and Canada retailers at the Land Rover Experience Center in Manchester, Vermont.

Land Rover TReK 2022 is a two‑day competition inspired by the original Camel Trophy competition. Compromised of qualifying trials and finals, the competition, utilizing the all‑new Defender 110, is designed for Land Rover retailer staff to educate and test some of the best off‑road driving experts across the U.S. and Canada in off‑road driving, navigation and team collaboration.

This year’s competition will pit 100 three‑person teams (90 from the U.S. and 10 from Canada) ‑ each representing the various sales regions for Land Rover across the U.S. and Canada – against each other in head‑to‑head team and group challenges. The teams will compete in a series of 100 identically customized 2023 Land Rover Defender 110 vehicles for the Regional Trials.

The winning team from each wave of competition will return to Manchester in October for the TReK 2022 Finals, where the overall winner of the competition will be crowned.

As we look ahead, we are thrilled to bring back the TReK competition for another year putting the capability of the Defender and our retailers’ skills to the test. This competition lets us engage with our Retailers while letting them embrace and experience firsthand what the Land Rover brand means.

President and CEO, Jaguar Land Rover North America

The Defender will be customized with Jaguar Land Rover Factory‑Approved Accessories including Remote Control Electric Winch*, Raised Air Intake, Roof Rack, Air Compressor, Front Undershield, Black Exterior Side Gear Carrier and more.

Additionally, accessories from Lucky8 will include TReK Edition badging, TReK branded recovery bag and equipment, Roofnest Rooftop Tent, Pull‑out Awning, ARB refrigerator, Solar Panel, and others.

The original TReK competition was established in 1996 in the image of the iconic Camel Trophy as a U.S. specific challenge for the retailer network to bolster their off‑road expertise in one day of immersive offroading experience. In 2001, following five years of success in North America, TReK expanded its influence when the first global TReK competition was held in South Africa.

At heart we are a British company, with two major design and engineering sites, three vehicle manufacturing facilities, an Engine Manufacturing Centre and a Battery Assembly Centre in the UK.
